PARKINSON'S DISEASE
Parkinson's Disease a neurodegenerative disorder is now a part of me, a really challenging, irksome an unpredictable part of me.
It is the World's fastest growing neurological disorder described by a fellow sufferer as a bit like being entered in to a raffle where all the prizes are shite.
The fundamental pathology is a loss of dopamine making cells in the substantia nigra located in the mid-brain.
Dopamine has many functions as a neuro-transmitter one of which is to mediate pleasurable experiences.
It's loss can take the joy out of life.
It's difficult it's not almost impossible to describe what it feels like to have Parkinson's Disease. But were I asked to describe it in one word, that word would be desiccation.
Luckily, I can try to express it through art and I hope you enjoy some of these images.
